Vehicle tax regulations issued
Regulations dated 1 November 2024 cover vehicle registration, road-use tax and the role of the highway patrol in collecting vehicle taxes.
The Vehicle Tax Regulation applies to every vehicle using the roads within the State. Vehicles must be registered with the revenue administration on presentation of the customs clearance and ownership documents. Government vehicles, diplomatic vehicles, United Nations and international agency vehicles, ambulances and emergency vehicles are exempt.
A companion regulation sets out the role of the highway patrol in enforcing vehicle taxes.
